Takin' it to the Bridge!

Yowza Yowza Yowza! And a very good afternoon to y'all.

Last night we were served up a big puff pastry pie of total quality, thanks to the ever stunning Donna Maciocia and fellow Edinburger musical co-horts Paul Gilbody and Stu Goodall. If this were a facebook update, there would be a little thumbs up right here...

...but it isnae! Instead, here's a wee video of theirs, to sooth the pain of whoever missed it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1s6Nwd0Yato

TONIGHT THOUGH.....sees the debut of all star highland party starters, BROKEBACK JOCKSTRAP. They'll be doing a wee weekend residency here, covering apres ski duties Saturday and Sunday afternoon / early evening and bringing the full blown ho-down blue grass meltdown, purely for the pleasure of your ears, feet and hips, later on tonight too. So that's 5 bells (ish), both days and 10 bells (ish) tonight.

There'll also be some tunes from your OBI resident DJ, Uncle Funkle, doing his best to put the funk back in your dysfunkctional Saturday night behaviour.

TUESDAY'S VACCINES GIG....as many of you will already know, has been CANCELLED. The poor lad they call a front man has got a sore throat (seems to happen every time he thinks about coming here). Well, we wish him a speedy recovery and good luck with his life.

THURSDAY = Abagail Grey and OBI's first folk sesh-inn (get it?!?!...sorry) of the year.
Abagail Grey are more than likely the sexiest thing ever to happen to folk music. Those who caught them at the Insider will recall having being stopped dead in their tracks at the site of beautiful woman playing harps in silver shimmery lycra. You half expected Dr Spock and Captain Kirk to break out on percussion, having been instantly hypnotised by these evil, intergalactic space suit clad vixens. But no, reality kicked in and instead we were all just wooed by their wonderfully charming music and presence, then we had a falafel.

Their performance on Thursday will be followed by a folk session. Bring your instruments, your gumption, preferably some level of talent and a light hearted smile. We'll provide the rest.

So, for now, in the words of Dame Vera...

we'll meet again,
don't know where,
don't know when,
but I know we'll meet again, some sunny day!

Big love x x
