Finally, it appears that the weather is improving, longer evenings warmer weather (sometines), and less rain/snow. This blogger has even been out in shorts, and its not June.
Following extensive works on the Burnside trails by contractors, it appears that the new trail is now working, Mike has been spotted on his Merida 96 full suss, £1849.99 from you know where! The new trail is fast an technical at the same time, and is great for breaking the big chainring!?
The Road Club has now swung in to full swing with healthy turnouts already, and loads excuses regarding inclement weather for winter training. Rob is the current sprint champ, with 3 wins last week, no 30mph sign is safe! The club popped out to Achlean, and carried out the required pursuit exercise, although some thought it was all a bit childish (Heather Morning anyone?), and remained aloof from the fight to the death. Amazing is the only superlative for a certain Ms Kenneth, who claimed a number of male scalps with her awesome climbing and sprinting on her Ridley Yana.
Mike is riding his new Raleigh SP Race £1899.99 (runner up (2nd) in the top 50 road bikes of 2011, in Cycling Plus). As ever it has been "blinged", with anodised jockey wheels (£18.99), One23 headset spacers (red), (shaped as sprockets). the awesome KNOG computer (no tools fitment), from £40, and the new San Marco SKN titanium saddle (£69.99). Future blogs will review the bike. Staying on road bikes, Mikes Bikes have an exclusive Ridley deal this year (limited stock), with a Ridley Triton frame, full Shimano compact Group, Shimano RS10 wheels (yes, on a bike this price!), and full Oval finishing kit for only £629.99, we only have six so hurry!
The dirt jumps are now back to being the place to be for the dudes in Aviemore, with BMX being the ride of choice for the bikers. Mikes Bikes has an extensive range of bikes for 2011 with the Scorpion Banish proving a big hit (£320 reduced to £270), light Cromoly frame, three piece cranks, Schwalbe tyres, Micro Drive and a pivotal saddle. Finally, the new Diamondback Skindog is back in stock, £279.99, as well as the affordable Diamondback Option at £159.99.
